· They were developed by commercial cattlemen to produce the best quality beef in good and bad times of the Australian environment.

· They were never breed to be multi-purpose.  No cart or plow pulling and no dairying, just production of the best beef.

· They are one of two breeds preferred in Asian markets such as Japan or Korea.

· Murray Grey’s are renowned for their ability to create tender beef.

· Genetic testing is showing the Murray Grey breed has a 30% likelihood of having two out of two genetic markers for tenderness.  This compares to the next closest breed, Angus,  at a mere 8%.
